The Hunt for Nessie

Our first stop in Scotland (after a 4 1/2 hour train and a 4 hour bus) was Loch Ness!  We stayed in a nice little village next to the Loch called Drumnadrochit.  We arrived quite late at night, around 9pm, but it was actually still quite light outside!  We had another 2 hours of daylight, and went on a walk to visit a nearby castle on the Lake, Castle Urquhart.  It was closed, so I just have pictures from outside the castle, but it was still a pretty view on the lake!  We also saw a lot of adorable sheep!  The little lambs were especially cute!!
The next day it was raining, so we decided against the boat tour of the lake and went to an exhibition center instead.  It was actually a really neat center, and talked about all of the scientific research they've done on the lake.  They also had a section where they had people's "eye-witness" accounts of the monster, starting from the 1800's I think.  The center did a good job of explaining that science pretty much shows there isn't a realy possibility of a "monster" existing, but still left it up to you to decide whether Nessie really lives or not :)
After touring the center, we hiked to a nearby waterfall, which was quite pretty!  It gave us some more pretty views of the lake as well.  These last few pictures are pictures I took of the lake as we were leaving Loch Ness and heading over to Isle of Skye.
