As soon as I heard Napoleon's Tomb existed, I knew I had to go. I may or may not be unreasonably obsessed with the attempted world conqueror. The building the tomb is in was a hospital (and part of it still does act as a hospital) for injured army men, and is called Les Invalides. It now also serves as a war museum for WWI and WWII, but I didn't go through that part, I just saw the tomb and the chapel area. I didn't have very much camera battery left at this point in my trip, so I got these pics from online.
After Les Invalides I walked to the Orsay Museum, and passed by some cool buildings and a cool bridge. The first building is the Grand Palais, which is a sort of museum, but I'm not sure for what. Near that was the Alexandre III bridge, and then I passed the Asemblee Nationale, which seems to be a music hall, I think. After that arrived at Musee d'Orsay, which is my next blog post!

Grand Trianon and Versailles Gardens
The Grand Trianon was like an extra secluded palace, within the estate of the first palace, Versailles. You know, to really get away from the people. Not all of the area is open during the winter, like the Petit Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet, but here's a look at some of what else lays within Versailles. Near the end of touring the big palace, my camera battery started flashing low, and since I still had a day and a half in Paris I freaked out and stopped taking pictures. All of the garden pics I took beforehand, so those are mine, but the pics of the Grand Trianon and the rooms inside I found online.

Versailles
I loved Versailles! Definitely one of my favorite places. On my way to Versailles, I stopped for breakfast, and had the most lovely view of Notre-Dame while eating.
I took so many pictures while at Versailles!
The next few (and by few I mean many....) pictures are of the inside. I don't necessarily remember each room the pictures were taken in, but there are pictures of the chapel, the king's bedroom, the queen's bedroom, the Hall of Mirrors, the dining room I think, and other random rooms. Basically all of the rooms were over the top ornate, and I'm not going lie, I kinda wish my house was like this....
This might be one of my new favorite paintings. Don't judge.
The last couple pics are of the crowned prince and the princesses' rooms, and then a few more of outside.
